Med Instead of Meds is a six-session class series focused on eating a healthy Mediterranean-style eating pattern (aka eating the Med Way). Classes focus on the 7 Simple Steps to eating the Med Way. Each session explores 1-2 simple steps, a mindfulness skill, and features Med Way recipes from medinsteadofmeds.com. Food demonstration and/or cooking instruction is included in each session.

Want to sign up for the class?

There will be an online and in-person class offered starting in May.

The online class will meet via Zoom from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesdays, starting May 4th through June 15th. We will skip Wednesday, May 18th. This is a great option for those who want to learn about the Med Way, but are unable to make it to in-person classes due to work or other scheduling conflicts. There is no cost to attend this class. To register for this class, please do so using the Eventbrite registration link

The in-person class will meet at the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Wilson County Center (1806 Goldsboro Street SW, Wilson) from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursdays, starting May 5th through June 16th. We will skip Thursday, May 19th. This option is ideal for those who want hands-on experience learning how to prepare and make the Med recipes. The in-person class costs $35 and can be paid via the online registration link, or by cash/check (call Taylor for more information).
